Umbereen is a native of Northern VA. She has volunteered in several Non-Profits and Professional Organizations in the area. She has been leading a GIVE Campaign, fundraising for nonprofits and volunteering campaigns nationwide. She is passionate about serving the community and making a difference.
Umbereen has 15+ years of experience in sales, sales management, business development, marketing and client relationship development in the IT, Medical Devices and Healthcare Industries. She is a driven Healthcare and Public Sector sales leader offering rich career experience in people management, leading and empowering sales teams to win opportunities, build business and grow revenue. She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in the biomedical field from George Mason University and George Washington University and is a Harvard Business School Graduate. In her spare time, Umbereen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, youth mentorship and volunteering.

Grew up in Syria where she studied under influential teachers, including those who have published works in the subjects of fiqh, comparative fiqh, tawḥīd, sīra, fiqh of sīra, hadith, tafsīr, tajwīd, companions, and sciences of the Quran. She memorized the Quran in 1994 and later received ijāza to teach tajwīd in the recitation of Ḥafs. Additionally, Anse Raghad Studied Agricultural engineering in Damascus University and worked in bee honey producing for two years, later she studied Shari’a and Islamic Economic at the Imam University in Saudi Arabia. In addition to being a mother of five and grandmother of three, she is an instructor and an active member in the Muslim community of the DC Metropolitan area since 1989. She is an instructor and member at both Ribaat and Fawakih Institute. She is also the founder of Mozaic, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing refugees and immigrants in the DMV area with the necessary support to settle, adjust, and adapt. It is also an effort to provide women and children with educational and material support to motivate and empower them.
A 2018 graduate of Social Work from Bowie State University. Nabila has worked voluntarily with refugees from 2012 until 2016. She then started case management as a part time job with local nonprofits that work with refugee services. During her undergraduate studies, Nabila interned for a local nonprofit that works with Individuals that have intellectual disabilities. Nabila hopes to do her masters and later get licensed in social work in the states of Maryland and Virginia. She is now the chief operating officer assisting Mozaic in the strategic and operational plan of current programs.
Zayd is a Global Finance Manager at Google. He has previously worked with the World Bank and Ernst & Young managing finance strategy & operations teams. Zayd graduated from the George Washington University – School of Business with a concentration in Finance & Accounting.
Zayd has supported Mozaic since its birth by helping streamline and standardize Mozaic’s ability to help and support refugees and families migrating to the United States. Zayd also serves as a volunteer Firefighter & EMT to help support his local community in his down time.
