Career Pathway Program Volunteers

Overview: We are seeking dedicated long-term volunteers to join our Career Pathway Program. Volunteers will play a crucial role in supporting refugees as they navigate their job and career paths. This program aims to assist 50 refugees, each with a personalized career development plan.

Responsibilities:

• • Attend six training sessions in August.

• Commit to 5 hours per week for up to one year.
• Mentor, guide, and support refugees in their career development.
• Evaluate progress in vocational learning and assist with obtaining certificates if needed.

• • Assess and validate credentials.

• Report progress to the program manager.
• Help arrange and participate in job fairs.
• Travel between Northern Virginia (NOVA) and Baltimore if needed.
• Assist with transportation arrangements for participants if they lack transportation.
• Help coordinate babysitting volunteers as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

• • Strong commitment to supporting refugee communities.
  • Excellent mentoring and coaching skills.

• Ability to travel between NOVA and Baltimore.

• • Good organizational and reporting skills.

• Prior experience in career counseling or vocational training is a plus.
• Ability to assist with transportation logistics.
• Experience or willingness to help coordinate babysitting services for participants.
