Job Description:

Position Overview: The Social Worker will provide direct support and therapeutic services to refugees and their families. This role involves conducting assessments, offering counseling, developing treatment plans, and connecting clients to necessary resources. The Social Worker will also advocate for systemic changes and contribute to community outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to understand clients’ needs, strengths, and challenges.
Provide individual, family, and group counseling to address emotional and psychological issues.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
Connect clients with appropriate resources, such as housing, healthcare, employment, education, and legal assistance.
Advocate for clients to ensure they receive necessary services and support.
Maintain detailed case files and documentation, including progress notes and reports.
Collaborate with community partners, service providers, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery and address clients’ needs.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Engage in community outreach and education to promote awareness of refugee issues and available support services.
Advocate for social justice and policy changes to improve the well-being of refugees and other vulnerable populations.
Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social work (BSW) required; Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in social work or a related field, preferably working with refugees or other vulnerable populations.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by refugees and knowledge of available resources and services.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
Fluency in Arabic and English preferred; additional language skills are a plus.
