What is I’tikaf?
I’tikaf is a cherished Islamic tradition where individuals retreat to the mosque or dedicated place for a dedicated period during Ramadan to focus on prayer, reflection, and connecting with Allah without any distractions.
The virtue of I’tikaf:
Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever performs I’tikaf for one day seeking Allah’s pleasure, if that day is in Ramadan, will receive the reward of fasting for one month. And whoever performs I’tikaf for one day in the way of Allah, will receive the reward of freeing a slave.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
